Every year, Grace Baptist Church does a Thanksgiving offering for special projects that do not fall under the normal church budget. This year we are planning on dividing up the offering in a few different ways. First is for our Adopt-a-Family event that we participate in every year. Grace shops for a family in hard times from Saint Paul for Christmas. The St. Paul School provides us with a family here in town and we go shopping for the kids. We are asking for $500 for this ministry. Next, we plan to give Christmas gifts to each of our Missionaries (total of $1,200).  Dalesburg Baptist Church in Beresburg, SD, needs some help.  Their senior pastor has ongoing health issues that is requiring surgery that will lay him out for several months.  We would like to send $2,000 to them to help with pulpit supply costs plus other costs that occur when a church has to fill the pulpit numerous Sundays.  Finally, if all these needs are met, we plan to give any remaining funds to Homeward Trail Bible Camp to purchase convection ovens to install in the new dining hall.  Each oven costs $5,000.  They need two.  We will give whatever amount comes in over the $3,700 to help with this purchase.   We recognize that times are hard for a lot of people and are thankful for any giving that that is provided!

Don’t forget, you can always give to funds that are already established.  Be sure to mark how you want your gift designated.  “Thanksgiving Offering” will go to the Thanksgiving project; “Benevolence Fund” is designed to help those who are in financial need; “New Building/Improvement Fund” is for our next building or improvements on our current building; and “Kingdom Fund” is for a future ministry project.  If you have questions about any of these funds, please see an elder (Pastor Daniel, Thomas Holmes, Ryan Phillips, or Brian Smith).
